History (1993 - 2001)

 

1993

  • APRA-TX was created, becoming an official regional chapter. Diane Crane of Texas Christian University was named president.
  • APRA-Louisiana was approved as a regional chapter of APRA International. Edward D'Antoni of Loyola University was named president and Eva Martinez of Tulane University was named vice president.

1995

  • Fran Miller of the University of North Texas elected president of APRA-TX

 

1997

  • Vivian O'Connell of the Boy Scouts of America elected president of APRA-TX

 

1998

  • David VanLone of Southern Methodist University elected president of APRA-TX

 

2000

  • Sara Wright of Sante Fe College named to the APRA-TX board, becoming the first member located outside of Texas.
     
  • In September, APRA-TX held its first conference outside of Texas, in Tulsa, OK

2001

  • In January, APRA-SW was founded and became the largest multi-state regional chapter. Current APRA-TX officers were named ad interim officers of APRA-SW until election of officers could be held in June of 2001. Don Prescott of Oral Roberts University, Judy Goeringer of Oklahoma State University, Sheri Lazare of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Marie Jeanne Trauth of Xavier University of Louisiana, and Tara Luparello of Tulane University were added to the standing members of APRA-TX's board to form the initial APRA-SW board.
  • In April, APRA-SW approved its first bylaws which gave framework to its annual goals (see bylaws section).
  • In June, APRA-SW selected its first officers. Ali McLane of Prospect Identification Network named president.
  • In July, APRA-SW held the first conference at Oklahoma State University, which drew attendees from five different states.
  • In November, APRA-SW held its first meeting in Louisiana at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
